What beers they have! Okay so maybe these were an excuse to stay but bonus, Michael (he who runs & organises this very fine establishment) and Fabio (best front of house service, think Fred Sirieix & you’re there) are outstanding. Which is ideal as the brewery/hotel is just that, outstanding. I mean, a brewery/hotel! Combos don’t come better than that. Clean, accommodating, relaxing with beautiful beers, and with food & ambience to match. Just need another excuse to go back….oh and they have a log fire. Bliss. 5 stars.

Spent end of Dec / New Year here. Convenient for town centre, decent food, great breakfasts, wide range of beers, clean rooms and amazing staff – all of the them! 5 Stars!

We were in Bury St. Edmunds last week, and our host recommended the Old Cannon for lunch. We set off and found it, and were very glad we did. We liked it so much we returned for dinner that night, and again for dinner the following night. The food was superb. For dinner we both had a sea bass entree that was fantastic — maybe the best food of our trip. The service (for the first two meals, at least) was attentive without being intrusive. And the selection of beers was great! Can recommend without reservation. 5 Stars.
